I feel that this place has a winning formula and such. Always a most pleasing experience is what I have experienced. Had a date there a while ago and really think that the food, and atmosphere, helped to make it a truly memorable night that I will never forget. The people who work there should get used to seeing me often!

I suspect that Luke's could be good if it was what you were expecting. I, however, found it horribly disappointing. The portions were small, the meals expensive, and the ambiance lacking. If you wish to leave feeling satisfied, expect to spend $70+ per person.

I had a business meeting at Luke's a few nights ago, and can certainly say that the food is absolutely amazing in all aspects. Memorable, inventive, clear flavors, high quality, local ingredients. Also, there were a few amuse bouches sent out of the kitchen, surprising little tastes that stimulate ones palate. Again, outstanding. The decor is quiet, with a nice juxtaposition between colours and dark, simplicity and sophistication. The wine list was rather good, not massive but well thought out. Lastly, I found the servers wonderful, at the table before we really realized we needed anything, without being intrusive. A gem of a restaurant.

One can't say enough about the food. Presentation, preparation, taste, and price are all excellent. Also, the decor and ambiance are also excellent.

However, we did experience some concerns. My husband does not drink alchohol, and ordered a ginger ale. Sorry, only Coke, Diet Coke and club soda - come on Luke - no 7-Up or Sprite at least? Also, we wanted decaf coffee - again - sorry, we only serve the house blend. Again, not good enough. Thankfully, there was an excellent tea selection. Lastly, we found it odd that soup is only available at lunch...but not a deal-breaker.

So while the food is beyond compare, these oversights definitely made a difference to our overall experience. We'll try again in a few months.

We traveled from Toronto to sample Luke's culinary wares. We read the Toronto Star article and listened to his interview on CBC Radio. Dining at Luke's was one of the finest meals we've EVER had. His charcuterie is unsurpassed -as good as we enjoyed in Tuscany years ago. Luke's is a world class restaurant and Luke is destined to become one of the world's finest chefs!!! We will often make the drive from Toronto to be enthralled by his culinary wizardry!

My girlfriend and I just got back into kingston for the school year, and having heard alot about luke's decided to go for dinner tonight.Wow!Best dining experience we ever had.Everything was dead on-the food, the service, the atmosphere, the music...already our favourite restaurant in kingston.

Everything is made from scratch! How many restaurants can say that? Not many, and that is what makes them stand out.The quality of the ingrediants, the methods of preparation, the care taken to ensure that the food is truly top-notch...truthfully, this may be the best restaurant in the city. From what I've heard, the owners aren't willing to rest on their laurals- they have a vineyard in,I think,Prince Edward County, and this year, they are due to have their first vintage! Can any restaurant in Ontario lay claim to that?I wonder...
